The Art of Communication

Communication –
One of the, if not THE most important leadership skill.

The need for excellent communication is amplified in a crisis, in times of extraordinary uncertainty and chaos.

Communicate with honesty.
We need to know how things really are.

Communicate clearly.
Complex jargon and vague messaging decreases trust and increases fear.

Communicate with confidence.
We will get through this.
And this what we are doing.

Communicate with sincerity.
We don’t have all the answers, but we are looking at the big picture and are putting any and all options on the table.

Communicate with empathy.
Listen and show that you understand and care.

Communicate with humility.
It’s Ok to admit what you don’t know.
And we need to know that you don’t know everything.

Over-communicate.
Frequent updates ease uncertainty.
Become a relentless communicator.

Communicate – human to human.
Address our heads and hearts.

Communicate and listen.
Really listen.
